Talk to Us

The Watson Twins got their first nibble at success through collaborating with Jenny Lewis (lead singer of Rilo Kiley). Three years later and with the album Fire Songs down their belts, the sisters are back and taking another bite with Talk To You, Talk To Me.

This sophomore album, set to be release on February 9th by Vanguard Records, showcases the growth and changes the dual act has undergone through the years. Unlike any of their previous records, this time around the girls have upbeated a lot of their songs, making the body sway irresistible. But don’t worry – there are still songs on the record that sustain their signature soulfulness.

Escaping from the commotion of the world to a secluded cabin near the Yosemite National Park, The Watson Twins bring us an album that proves to be a threshold for both joy and harmony.

Little Red

A movie about what happens to an innocent man that gets attacked by a werewolf! Oh, and the werewolf – it’s coming for us too, on February 12th (USA Release).

In the film, The Wolfman, Lawrence Talbot (played by Benicio Del Toro) returns to his family’s home to investigate the recent death of his brother. But something not so human has been stalking the residents of Blackmore lately, and not even the recent arrival, Scotland Yard inspector Aberline (Hugo Weaving), can come to a logical conclusion. Academy-award winner, Anthony Hopkins, give a scary-like-Silence of the Lamb-scary performance as Talbot’s estranged father. And The Young Victoria herself, Emily Blunt, makes a cameo as a widowed fiancĂ©e.

Major Booty

Nothing says “Happy Valentine’s Day” better than diamonds right? What about Swarovski crystals – in a room filled with it too?

Probably wondering how you would be able to afford it? Well fortunately for all the Miami locals – they struck crystal (literally)! At the Bass Museum of Art in Miami, former graffiti, Chicago-based artist, Dzine, is putting on a kaleidoscopic exhibit of the darling stones until the 21st of February. Throughout the museum, people will catch installations of eye-catching pieces like a DJ set on a mirror and a chandelier with vehicle parts.

See… V-Day doesn’t have to be that costly after all. Just take that special someone down to the BMA and tell them “but you’re a diamond in my eyes” and you’re good.

But if you’re not in ‘The Magic City,’ don’t worry – there’s still a little love dust left over, just check out a video of the exhibit together here.

Check out all of Dzine's works at his official website.

Keep on Feeling

They once told us to “ do it now” and “say it now…” Well, we’re doing this post now because we are totally gung-ho for Hot Chip and we’re saying now that the beat-bopping boys are back with their new album One Life Stand.

Their last album, Made in the Dark, debut in 2008 earning mad props for their catchy, beat-heavy, club perfect tunes. So it’s pretty understandable for people to be itching, scratching away – so barmy – while awaiting some new jams from this London-based group. Well, at least we have been.

Check out this new promo video the boys made for their album’s release date, February 9th (US Release). Learn some cool shoulder popping, Elvis knee walking tricks. But beware – it’s a fucking tripster video.

Call Off the Hunt

There’s no need to be on a constant mad hunt for pieces by Parisian designer Isabel Marant anymore because a store is coming to the fashion burrows of Soho, NY (between Broome St. and Greene St) in February.

Talk has it that this coveted brand – favorite among top magazine editors and celebrities like Kirsten Dunst, Rachel Bilson, and Cameron Diaz – is awfully tough to come across in the United States since it’s not available via web. So it’s definitely a sign of relief for all Marant addicts to hear that it’s coming to the states – bringing the Spring/Summer 2010 collection along.

Hope you gals have some leftover Christmas money to indulge in your guilty – Isabel Marant – pleasure!

Check out the rest of the Spring/Summer 2010 collection here today (to quench your thirst for now...)

Rodarte for Boys

Inescapable fact: there has been a fashion fit, fury – whatever you want to call it – frenzy over the recent women collection Rodarte did for Target. But what’s next for the Mulleavy sisters?

Starting today, men will be the recipient of some sweater love from Kate and Laura Mulleavy. In this new project, the sisters have collaborated with popular fashion destination, Opening Ceremony, for a collection of webby, gauzy crewnecks and cardigans. So no need to throw a jealous fit any more boys (minus of course, the price tag), but now you can get a piece of the Mulleavy action too.

Shop for them at Opening Ceremony’s official website today.

P.S. Ladies, this would make for a great “love you too honey” present for the forthcoming V-Day.

Dear Readers

Love is in the air – or at least in the air conditioning of theaters… But it does seem like Hollywood has been bitten by the love bug.

Nicholas Sparks is no stranger in Hollywood. Heck, he’s no stranger to love either. So it’s no surprise that with February rolling around another Sparks novel inspired - tear dropping, love lusting – flick is coming out. But it seems Dear John, presented by Relativity Media and Screen Gems, may live up to all its hype after all – boasting a cast of G.I. Joe heartthrob Channing Tatum and Jennifer’s Body starlet Amanda Seyfried.

John Tyree (Tatum), a rebel that enlisted in the army after high school, comes to fall for Savannah Curtis (Seyfried), a college student, one spring in the port city of Wilmington, North Carolina. Although it doesn’t take long before these two develop deep affections for each other, John’s tours of duty quickly become a problem for their relationship – one not even a letter can fix.

Get ready for Sparks to take you on an emotional journey between two star-crossed lovers on February 5th.
